A small utility that enables you to remove the Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications tool
RemoveWGA will enable you to easily remove the Microsoft “Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications” tool, which is calling home and connect to MS servers every time you boot. Futures updates of this notification tool will (officialy) setup the connection rate to once every two weeks.
Once the WGA Notification tool has checked your OS and has confirmed you had a legit copy, there is no decent point or reason to check it again and again every boot.
Moreover, connecting to Microsoft brings security issue for corporate networks, and privacy issues for everyone. It is also unclear which information are transmitted (Microsoft published an official answer, but an individual study brought some questions).
All of that, along the fact that Microsoft used deceptive ways to make you install this tool (it was told you it was an urgent security update, whereas it is a new installation giving you no extra security) makes me calling this tool a spyware.
Also, Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications is different than Windows Genuine Advantage Validation. RemoveWGA only removes the notification part, phoning home, and does not touch the Validation part.

3.) Linksys WRT54G/GS (any version) flashing notes:

-For upgrading from the original Linksys firmware, please use the generic mini version (dd-wrt.vXX_mini_generic.bin) and flash it from the web GUI interface. After this first flashing you can change to any other distribution, if you want.
-For flashing via the web GUI interface, always use the included ‘generic’ binaries. The other Linksys router specific binaries are only meant for tftp upgrades.
4.) Motorola WR850G flashing notes:

-Just use the dd-wrt.v23_mini_moto.bin for initial flashing of the motorola device using the boot wait state.
-WARNING: Never, and I say never try to clear the nvram by the mtd utility. (mtd erase nvram). This will also delete your hardware MAC adresses which aren’t stored in the CFE like in other routers.
-DD-WRT itself prevents this if a Motorola router is detected, but the commandline mtd utility can still brick your router in this case
5.) Siemens Gigaset SE505 Flashing notes:

-For flashing the Siemens Gigaset SE505, you have to use the dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic.bin with boot tftp on 192.168.2.1
-Since the Siemens default settings do not fit to the Linksys/dd-wrt settings you must additionally check your configuration details after flashing.

A standard TFTP command-line utility possesses a number of serious drawbacks. It does not support important features such as blocksize option, and is unable to transfer files larger than 33 MB. As a result, the standard TFTP client is often not very useful at all.
